Seeing the Unseen: A 3-Day Photography Workshop with Peter Fraser
TONER Gallery, Penzance — 27th, 28th and 29th of March
£325 per person | Limited to 10 places
Join acclaimed British photographer Peter Fraser for an immersive three-day workshop at TONER Gallery in Penzance.
Over the course of one weekend, participants will explore how to see the unseen — developing a more perceptive and poetic approach to photographing the world around them.
Through a mix of artist talks, guided fieldwork across West Penwith, and collaborative editing sessions, you’ll produce new photographic work culminating in a pop-up exhibition and zine launch at TONER Gallery.
Workshop Schedule
Friday Evening 6-8.30pm – Introduction & Artist Talk
Meet Peter Fraser and fellow participants at TONER Gallery. Peter will share insights from his celebrated career, discussing the ideas and visual thinking that underpin his practice. The evening sets the creative tone for the weekend and outlines the approach for Saturday’s shoot.
Saturday 9am - 6pm – Shooting Day in West Penwith
Spend the day exploring the landscapes and light of West Penwith — from coastal edges to quiet villages and industrial traces. Working individually and in small groups, you’ll create new photographic work under Peter’s guidance, with opportunities for one-to-one feedback and discussion.
Sunday – 9am - 6pm Edit, Print & Exhibit
Back at TONER Gallery, you’ll select and print a small series of images, contribute to a collaborative workshop zine, and help install a one-day exhibition of the work. The weekend concludes with an exhibition opening and celebration, open to the public, friends, and local artists.
